Clearview Capital Corporation and Prime Financial Corporation
Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer,
1996 - 1996
Huntington Beach / Costa Mesa, CA

Recruited to this closely held $300 million Title I mortgage originator and servicer as a member of the Executive Management Team to establish synergistic policies, procedures, and operating environments in both companies. After six months I resigned my position when I discovered on-going use of highly unethical and potentially illegal business practices.  Subsequent formal investigations resulted in the Board of Directors restructuring the companies.

Scope of Responsibility:

Directed all aspects of IT operations and applications development. Managed 28 staff consisting of 12 client / server application developers plus 16 operations, network and telecommunications people. $1.5 million budget.

Accomplishments:

  • Developed Strategic Automation Plan encompassing both companies, implementing consistent infrastructure architecture and improving network reliability/availability 85% while reducing maintenance/support cost 50%.

  • Relocated Prime Financials' corporate headquarters by managing the design and build-out of office space and state-of-the-art computer facility, positioning firm to expand 200%.

  • Improved customer service by replacing/implementing telephone, voice mail and interactive voice response (IVR) systems, reducing customer complaints 37% and reducing annual operating expense by $18,000.

  • Reduced cost of delinquent account collections by researching, selecting, and implementing state-of-the-art collections system  and directing development of complex predictive behavior call queuing algorithms increasing calls processed per collection hour 300% and decreasing delinquency ratio 45%.
