Joined this member owned $4.4 Billion credit union as Chief Technology Officer to create and execute an Information Technology Strategy to modernize technological infrastructure, establish regulatory compliant security architecture and significantly enhance or upgrade/replace mission critical applications enabling credit union to regain top ten national ranking. Appointed Information Security Officer after creating and gaining NCUA approval of Kinecta Federal Credit Union's Information Security Program. Named First Vice President in recognition of achievements and scope of responsibilities.

Scope of Responsibility:

Directed internal and external (on shore / off shore - India) applications development. Initiated and chaired Kinecta Change Control Board. Initiated and directed implementation of quality assurance, release and configuration management procedures. Directed production support and application monitoring services. Directed server, network, telecommunications architecture, help desk, field technical support, application security and capacity / contingency planning. Directed development of Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security standard compliance procedures for the enterprise. Lead staff of 54 with an annual operating budget of $14 Million.

Accomplishments:

  • Created and gained Board of Director approval of information technology strategy, encompassing service based organization structure, telecommunications / network architecture, data storage strategy, virtual server strategy, desktop / mobile computing strategy, security architecture, application strategy and disaster recovery strategy.
     

  • Integrated mission critical business and system processes reducing annual operating cost $1.5 Million, creating IT Steering Committee to align IT resources and investment with key business initiatives / priorities, increasing application development productivity/effectiveness.

  • Eliminated NCUA Audit Finding and significantly enhanced safety of infrastructure / member data / credit union data, creating Information Security Program, defining and gaining Board of Director approval for enterprise data security policy, controls and reporting procedures / standards.

  • integrated telecommunications and data networks reducing annual operating costs $550 Thousand, architecting / implementing secure MPLS network and VoIP technologies enabling member, employee and vendor connectivity from anywhere at anytime to application systems, voice communications, video streaming, teleconferencing and telecommuting.

  • increased data storage return on investment 59%, implementing Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) technologies, improving data storage / retrieval performance while increasing capacity and  fault tolerance.

  • maximized return on investment through 85% improvement in host / server resource utilization, migrating to leading edge blade servers and VMware, providing consistent predictable response times while maximizing availability / reliability through improved fault tolerance.

  • enabled mission critical wholesale mortgage banking initiative growing loan origination volume $1.5 Billion, selecting / replacing loan origination system and initiating / deploying a secure anytime, anywhere mobile computing capability for mortgage Account Executives.

  • Optimized check processing procedures saving annually more than $1 Million, developing enterprise Request For Proposal (RFP) procedure to select ImageIN application software.

  • Initiated and gained approval to replace proprietary on-line banking system enabling virtual branch initiative, selecting member facing on-line banking / bill payment system.

  • initiated and gained approval to acquire mobile banking system, integrating mobile banking and on-line banking / bill payment systems.

  • implemented Enterprise data warehouse (EDW), selecting Business Objects software, creating / loading "business intelligence" databases and data marts based on executive and business unit reporting requirements.
